Yellow Submarine

I wasn't going to publisht this one, but my mom liked it. So I changed my mind :-) This illo comes from a teacher's guide book (preschool). It's actually been very much fun to work on!

Before the Spring comes!

I have created a new seeking book illustration - it's for a children's magazine and it's supposed to picture how the animals come to life after a long winter sleep and hibernation. Good one, isn't it? I love it when the art directors go behind the usual and come up with something completely new. Enjoyed this one very much! ;-) Click to enlarge the picture if you like!

My Work in 1000 Illustrations for Children!

It's been over a year since I got an email from the 1000 Illustration for Children book author Julia Schonlau saying she would like to include my work in her book. I almost forgot about it until my good friend Lenka http://issuu.com/portfoliolenka messaged me she found my illos in a book she just purchased :-) What a nice surprise! It really is a beautiful book! Thank you Julia, thank you Lenka!

The Princess Tales

A week before Christmas, I have finished a very nice project I've been working on for the last few weeks. It's a book called The Princess Tales and includes all of the classics, such as Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Cinderella. A little theatre made of paper comes together with the book and it just looks so lovely altogether!

PIKTO13 Ilustrator's Conference

Last weekend, I attended the wonderful event organized by Slovak Illustrator's Association - PIKTO13 Illustrator's Conference. It took place in Piestany, Slovakia and this was the second year the conference was held here. Eight speakers were invited to tell the auidence something about how to make a living out of illustrating. It was very inspirational to see that even in such a small country like Slovakia, there are people who did not give up and found their ways to earn a living by doing what they love. I hope the tradition of such a conference will live on and hopefully all of us can attend PIKTO14 next year!
